We are always fantasizing about what it must have been like to fly during the Golden Age of Travel. Yes sure we long for the days of smiling in-flight service and all the amenities, but maybe we don’t have it so bad now. An article in the Wall Street Journal today studies what travel was really like back in the day.
Ah, the joys of scrapping for time and networking. I get to fly a Piper Aztec to Arkansas and drive someones car back so they don’t have to. So minimal flight time but descent for networking…

Ah, the joys of modern aviation…
guys, guys! I’m still around…I just got involved in…things. We’ll have to leave it at that until the dust settles.
Anyway, the past week has been beyond weird. I went from little ole struggling pilot, working my little 9-5, flying my crappy little spam can rental to possibly being an aircraft owner with serious delusions of grandeur. Oh to be headstrong and naive.
The possible aircraft: a 1955 PA-22-150 Tri-Pacer. It’s not very attractive, per se, but it would be mine, making it way more badass than anything else in the sky.

Also I’m working on a “real website”. I’ll keep this mostly because I still don’t know what to make of the other site yet. It’s www.groundpointniner.com, a pretty sweet url if I do say so myself. Suggestions?
Happy fathers day to all the dads and dads to be!
Side note: picture isn’t of my dad or grand dad. I don’t even really know the guy…
Wished I was doing this instead of working today…
The first spin is from within a Decathalon, the second one is a Diamond DA-40(I think?)

…ok, not really. What a shitty way to spend the weekend (you see what I did there?) Not to mention its 102 degrees here (thats 38.8C for all you non US peeps)
Also I might not ever forgive Cessna for putting this in such a cramp space on a Citation V…
- Having a positive attitude about flying
- Hitting full scale deflection on a VOR approach
- Not staying aware on a circle to land
- A sweet ass runway incursion(not my fault per say)
- And I’m pretty sure I was double parked
Yep. 2 hours of pure hell…
On a non aviation note I might be actually be playing hockey tomorrow which I haven’t played in 6 months( and it shows). I might die of being so out of shape so if I dissappear for a couple days, I’m sure I’ll be recovering…
